Review Summary

The Review

Allow me to get one thing in the open here: I love the Terminator movies, even the 3rd one, and I can enjoy them just about anytime without over-analyzing them. At one time I was like that, sure, but then I started to realize that I couldn't enjoy a movie doing that. It loses it's entertainment value, by golly.

Maybe this is also why I enjoyed the last two Matrix movies, too.

Don't get me wrong, you don't really have to suspend disbelief in the Terminator 'lore' much to really enjoy the show, or at least the pilot.

The show takes place after the events of part two, and before part three (obviously). Sarah and John are still on the run, now being hunted by not only another terminator from the future, but the FBI for the falsely accused murder of Miles Dyson as well. Honestly, the opening scene is exactly what you'd expect, and the first bit of the show is kinda..well, typical. Not to say it's bad, but I found myself already questioning the longevity of the series. This lasted about twenty minutes, and then things started picking up.

The special effects and casting are all top notch, and the performances of the cast are fantastic as well. It did a good job of feeling like a movie, but not letting you forget it's also a TV show. The funny thing is, aside from the sluggish start, the only thing I found myself bitching about was ...and I'm almost ashamed to admit this...but what I thought was 'faggy' wardrobe on the 'bad' terminator during the bank heist. Then I thought of myself as pretty 'faggy' for thinking about what a man was wearing in a Terminator show.

All in all, great stuff. I'll be watching it week after week until FOX accidentally cancels it for being a good show. I'm pretty sure they do that sometimes.

You can catch the pilot episode January 14, 2008...if you want to live.

Jeez, that was ridiculous. Screw it, I'm not deleting it.

**I'd also like to point out that this reviewer is in no way homophobic. I put the word 'faggy' in quotes, just like there..see? I did that because I was quoting other hate mongers. And it was the only way to describe the weird purple sweater and leather vest that the terminator was wearing. Sheesh.**
