The Review
“Megaforce” is by far the closest the movie world has ever gotten to a live action “G.I. Joe” movie. About a rapid deployment defense team that is called by the government whenever there is trouble, “Megaforce” puts the cheese in action cinema, and I savored every morsel.
Led by the super awesome spandex wearing Ace Hunter (Barry Bostwick) “Megaforce” uses kick ass motorcycles, tanks, and other toys to rid the world of evil. When Ace is called to duke it out with his old friend Guerera (Henry Silva), “Megaforce” faces their toughest challenge.
This flick is pure fun like only the 1980s can provide. The heros wear golden spandex, drive super weapons, drink, talk about the ladies, and live in their secret hideout. I wish Hollywood would still make movies like this instead of trying to throw so much plot into tent-pole movies. Bostwick is perfect as the Commander with feathered hair, and Silva is stupid awesome as Guerera as well, but nothing beats a flying motorcycle. It excites me that someone actually spent the money to make a movie like this one. It can’t be cheap to create an army with super weapons, and I commend the producers for spending the coin.
I’m going to keep this review short and sweet, just like “Megaforce.” If you get the chance to catch this one on cable or can find a bootleg on Ebay I would suggest you check it out, because “Megaforce” is a killer film!
