This week isn't a bad week for DVD releases. While not as plentiful as last the 24th it still offers up some cool discs.

Here we go:


300

This flick has some killer visuals and I can't wait to see the special features on this baby.






Bloodlines

"In the sticks of Kentucky, a demented family of inbreds begin the process of cleaning up their blood line. Their twisted family is led by Billy Bob Hackford, who in his madness abducts unsuspecting young women. As a sadistic sport, the clan forces the girls to fight, gladiator style to the death, to determine the strongest. Billy Bob then rapes the victor in hopes of a pregnancy and expanding the Hackford family. The Hackford's plan changes when they abduct Amber Strickland, a southern tom boy whose family ties run as deep as her abductors. She's not a victim or prey, but a huntress raised in the backwoods of Alabama. Her brothers, Bear and Brody track her down and a feud of country folks erupt into a massacre, with only the strongest to survive."

I hadn't heard of this before, but it sounds like it could be fun.






Dead Clowns

"As a hurricane approaches the small coastal town of Port Emmett, an innocent group of residents are visited by an unspeakable horror. Fifty years ago a bridge collapsed in the small town, plunging a circus train into the dark water below. The clown car was never recovered. Tonight the zombie clowns emerge from the bay to exact revenge on the descendants of those who left them buried under the silt and mud for half a century."

Clowns are creepy, plain and simple.






Mutant Monsters Triple Feature (The Dark / The Being / Creatures From the Abyss)

"The Dark Well-acted wild cross-genre mix of sci-fi and horror starring William Devane as a writer who takes a personal interest in a series of baffling decapitation murders in L.A., all of which seem to indicate some kind of supernatural force at work. Every night "The Mangler" stalks the streets, killing and mutilating one random victim. Also on the murder trail is a TV reporter (Cathy Lee Crosby), and a police detective (Richard Jaeckel), but despite their efforts only a mysterious psychic DeRenzy (Jacquelyn Hyde) knows what the killer really is. The Being Starring Martin Landau (Ed Wood) and Ruth Buzzy Directed by Jackie Kong (Blood Diner) An evil Being lurks in the local disposal dump attacking all in its wake. The Being, a genetic freak driven psychotic by radiation waste, mutilates and decapitates. The being leaves no survivors. Creatures From The Abyss Five bright young teenagers decide to go for a ride in a small rowboat on the open ocean. Strangely, they come across an abandoned yacht with mysterious biology laboratory! Two of the kids decide to make love on the boat, but radioactive plankton from the lab infects them. How will they escape when monsters begin running rampant on the boat?"

Triple features rock!






Creature

"An amphibious shark-like monster terrorizes an abandoned secret military base and the people who live on the island it is located on. A marine biologist, as well as several other people, try to stop it before it is too late..."

Peter Benchley is a kick ass writer and this sounds like a fun creature feature.






Night Junkies

"Against riverfront London's sordid backdrop of seedy nightclubs, winding streets and dark alleyways, a modern-day Jack the Ripper stalks his prey…meanwhile, troubled, newly "turned" exotic dancer Ruby and her brooding vampire lover Vincent struggle to resist their overpowering addiction to the "drug" that both sustains and shatters them. BLOOD."

I like cheesy vampire films, and I like them even more when they have exotic dancers in them. This one could go either way, but at the least if I get some T&A out of it and a little of the red stuff we can call it a day.







20 Million Miles To Earth (50th Anniversary Edition)

"Special effects genius Ray Harryhausen (Jason and the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans)brings you one of his earliest groundbreaking films, now available for the first time in vibrant color! I really dug this flick when I was a kid and am looking forward to seeing it again.






Pathfinder (Unrated Edition)

"The heroic story of a young Norse man raised by Native American Indians who wages a personal war against the Vikings that barbarically raided his tribe."

I have not seen this yet and am really looking forward to see some Viking ass kicking.
