Due to unknowns reasons , I haven't been able to sleep much lately, so I've been biding my time looking at up-and-coming horror film trailers as much as possible. A lot of them are independent works and some you may have already seen in our news section, but I thought I'd get a small collection going for those of you who are like me and want to stay on top on the genre. So here are some random trailers that intrigued me (gave me a boner) as of late.

Plot:
"On a Saturday morning, Frances jolts awake from a frightening dream. That afternoon, while on a road trip with four friends, a bizarre chain of events leads her to a secluded house where a little girl lives with a man she refers to only as, "The Doctor". Here, Frances uncovers grisly horrors the little girl is subjected to and as Frances fights to save her young soul, her friends fight to save themselves from the monster the doctor has created."
Opinion:
I think the description of the movie alone is creepy! Nobody has made me call them "The Doctor" since Church Camp, so i'm eager to see how the plot in this movie plays out. Plus for a low budget indie flick from a second-time director, there are some pretty sweet cast members. This looks like it can be to indie-horror what "Head Trauma" was supposed to be.

Plot:
"With a pocketful of drugs, Nick West (Andrew Howard) takes out his girlfriend Sammy (Polly Brown), for a shag and a good time. When they explore an abandoned asylum, the discovery of a bizarre device - a cross between an electric chair and sadistic fetish machine - transforms drugged-out bliss into agony and despair. After Sammy is brutally assaulted and murdered by unseen forces, Nick becomes the number-one suspect. So begins British horror director Adam Mason's gore-fest The Devil's Chair, a dark and terrifying journey to the meeting place between insanity and the supernatural. Years pass and Nick, who had been locked up in a mental hospital, is released into the care of eminent psychiatrist Dr. Willard (David Gant), who is hell-bent on exposing the truth behind the killing. Accompanied by Dr. Willard and several of his students, Nick returns to the scene of the crime. However, the decrepit asylum hides a blood-drenched secret. With Dr. Willard's team in mortal danger, their only hope is the clinically insane Nick. Chained by memories of the horrifying event and the conflicting version of reality engendered by his psychiatric treatment, Nick is forced to fight the forces of pure darkness to save the team and prove his innocence. Events build to a brutal, gut-wrenching climax where nothing is what it seems, but everyone is ripe for slaughter."
Opinion:
Though my review seemed mixed, I thoroughly enjoyed director Adam Mason's last film,
Broken which he co-directed with "Devil's Chair" co-writer Simon Boyes. The trailer looks wonderful and looks 10x as gory as "Broken" and for those of you that saw "Broken" you know that's a lot. And last but not least, "The Devil's Chair" stars motherfucking Matt Berry, who is quite possibly the funniest fucking Brit I have ever laid eyes on. How he'll handle a horror film, I'm dying to see.
Sell your soul to
The Devil's Chair before you end up sliming demons like my friend Mel. <3
Plot:
True 1993 story of a cult that takes over an Arizona town.
Opinion:
This film looks like it was shot with the cheapest possible camera ever, but it still looks unbelievably creepy. And with stars like George Wendt, Tony Todd, Tiffany Shepis, Daniel Roebuck, Brinke Stevens, and Lloyd Kaufman...well shit. What more do i need to say. Plus cult-themed movies are always a good creep out. It's an interesting subject.
Drink the red punch at the
Bryan Loves You site and check out their huge marketed media plug that revolves around certain religious groups protesting the film. If these people are protesting the film, then why are they uploading it on YouTube? Come on guys, you're giving indie horror a lack of cred! BE MORE CLEVER!!
Plot:
"A love story turns bloody when a masked killer stalks an isolated country pub. As night falls the body count rises, slowly eliminating who the killer might be and leaving the remaining bar staff to fight to stay alive..."
Opinion:
The trailer looks fucking awesome. I love horror films (particularly back in the 80s) when the characters were trapped in one location and forced to stick it out through a violent mess of a night. This looks like a bloody romp of a good time.
If I were you, I would go to
the film's site schooner than later.
