I think everyone pretty much expected Transformers to be the biggest movie of the summer, but I have to admit I'm a little surprised. Some theaters were showing the movie as early as Monday of this week.
Overall the box office gross since it opened is $64.89 million. Of that, $28 million came from the 4th of July holiday.
Transformers appeals to a broad audience and has both nostalgia for older viewers, as well as being enticing to younger viewers. Couple that with the fact that most of the reviews thus far have been positive, including
Donny's review: More Than Meets The Eye Candy, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Transformers setting box office records.
