The "Terminator" series of films have seen their share of battles, on the screen and off, but a new series on the FOX network may breathe new life into a somewhat troubled franchise. "Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles" tells of what happened in the years after John and Sarah Connor blew up Cyberdyne systems and before John was living off the grid. Leading the cast is "300" actress Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and "Firefly" actress Summer Glau as a female terminator sent back to protect them. The previews that have so far aired have shown a world that is different than some movie to tv series, in that it actually looks like its part of the film franchise. The action doesn't let up, and the Terminators that are after the main characters move, fight and get battle damaged just like in the films. This helps to give an authenticity that is often absent from these types of shows. The series is set for debut on January 13, but the current writers strike may cause this series and many others to be pushed back until more than a handful of episodes are ready for air. Hopefully, the suits will stop pinching the pennies and give the writers their fair share, and we the viewers can enjoy imaginary worlds instead of more "reality"
