Its official boys and girls, Peter Jacksons go to man for directing "The Hobbit" is Guillermo del Toro, which made me giddy as a school girl when I read the story. Besides Jackson, I honestly cannot think of a better man for the job. Del Toro definitely knows how to handle the visual aspect (Pans Labyrinth) and can tell a damn good story (Devils Backbone). The question will be whether or not he can handle something this epic, considering hes not only directing "The Hobbit" but also a film to bridge the time between that film and the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. All in all, he'll be dedicating at least four years of his life to this project. My opinion, he can not only do the job, but excel at it.
