Choose Your Own Deadventure!

A big up to Bloody-Disgusting.com for posting the link to Warner Brother’s trailer for “Return to House on Haunted Hill”. The sequel to 1999’s “House on Haunted Hill” a remake of the 1959 William Castle/Vincent Price classic, finds another group of eager guys and gals dying to get their hands on some money. Chances are, they’ll be dying anyways. Whereas the first film had a pretty star-studded cast featuring Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Ali Larter, Chris Kattan (he’s still a celebrity right?) and more, this direct-to-DVD film stars a few indie-horror personalities like Erik Palladino (Dead & Breakfast), the sexy Cerina Vincent (Cabin Fever) and a few others. Jeffrey Combs returns as the evil Dr. Richard Benjamin Vannacutt. From the trailer, it looks like there are going to be more scares than the original and a lot more creepy crawly ghosts popping out and about.

Mainly worth mentioning, however, is that this DVD will be a “Choose Your Own Adventure” type of deal. With 96 options, you get to take control of the characters and put their lives in your remote control clutching hands, deciding who lives, dies, or strips (hopefully).

With a Direct-to-DVD stigma, I think it’s an awesome idea that they added this type of twist to the movie. Not only does the movie look like it has great production value, but now it’ll also have great replay value.

I’m a sucker for the original. I loooove Geoffrey Rush and who couldn’t enjoy a film where Lisa Loeb makes a cameo??
